1. How to flash new software on Ariva receivers
- You download the file in question, unzip it and upload it to a USB stick. insert the stick into the receiver, then select Menu->Tools->Upgrade By USB, on Upgrade mode select Allcode + bootloader, under this option on Upgrade file select the file you need to loading, now press start to start the software update. Wait until it completes 100%, then the receiver will automatically restart. IMPORTANT: During the software update, do not turn off the power of the receiver, because this will cause it to be damaged!
2. Can I make a backup of the Ariva receiver, in the event of a software update, I can restore the settings easily?
- yes this is possible, put a USB stick in the receiver and select Menu->Tools->Upgrade, in Upgrade mode select Dump then press start, in a few seconds it will reach 100%, this means the file was created on the USB stick with there is Dump.abs or Backup.abs depending on the Ariva receiver model. Once you have created this file you now have a complete copy of all receiver information, channel list, favorite list and everything.
Now you can proceed to update the software, which is explained in point 1, after you update it, you can only upload the settings using the file we created. This is done as follows: select Menu->Tools->Upgrade, on Upgrade mode you select User.db, on File mode you select the file we made Dump.abs or Backup.abs and give start. again you wait for it to fill up to 100% the receiver is restarted you now have a receiver with updated software and saved settings.
3. How to play BG subtitles on a movie played from a USB stick on Ariva receivers?
- Open the subtitle file with Notepad text editor, select Save as and at the bottom of Encoding select UTF-8. The name of the movie and the subtitle file must match
